The US public dataset contains some 50 billion points of elevation and
some 10 million megapixels of aerial photos describing the
contiguous US.
Put together, they produce 3D perspectives of the US like the
images on this page. EarthDetails has merged this data into one highly detailed and vast model,
capable of fast and smooth fly-throughs.

Currently, we are working towards bringing this value to everyone over the Internet. We want
the community to have an available, detailed, 3D illustrator that is geared and dedicated to
outdoor recreational activities. We want to build the skeleton that can support and inspire
your photos, stories, and adventure to be published and shared with those who will follow
in your footsteps and remember you for it.

As such, we need the help of outdoors enthusiasts who can add value to this model,
be it alpine ski routes or hiking trails, the model is only as good as the information on
it and the people using it. If you, your hiking club, your fishing buddies,
or any outdoor organization have valuable information
to contribute to the community, we want to present your information geographically on the public
